The Women's and Girls programme at COLBC has received more positive news this week as Leeds based female entrepreneur Katie Quinn has committed to sponsoring our very talented U16 Girls Gold team who will be competing in Junior National League Premier level for the first time in the 2025/26 season.

Katie's company KQ Social is fast becoming the "GO-TO" for independent businesses in Leeds and the wider Yorkshire region that have big aspirations. The high-quality and high-impact Social Media Management and Content Creation KQ Social provides, has seen a multitude of businesses see their brand identity and awareness grow significantly, whilst their overall reach and exposure to relevant consumers and sectors has been second to none. In a short time KQ Social has garnered the interest of Meta's "Instagram For Business" podcast, where Katie has spoken about her experiences of utilising social media to help fledgling and small businesses maximise their social media presence.

The City Of Leeds programme has long been a driver of women's and girls sport with no less than 6 teams taking to the floor for the 2025/26 Junior National League season.

The synergies of this particular sponsorship have not escaped Director of Basketball Matt Newby who is very excited by the collaboration:

KQ social is the perfect fit for us as a programme, Katie is a female entrepreneur with a business whose impact and potential for growth is very exciting. She is incredibly driven and the quality and depth of her portfolio is fantastic, with a background in sports and performing arts, and having played basketball as a youth she is passionate about pathways for girls and young women. She is a fantastic role model for the young women in our programme who have aspirations of pursuing a career in business or achieving success in other domains. We as a programme, see basketball as a platform or vehicle for young people to benefit from investing in themselves; with scholarships available both home and abroad, we foresee opportunities for talented young women to secure educational opportunities which will see them flourish beyond the court. We are thankful for the interest and investment from KQ Social and look forward to a long standing relationship."

Katie Quinn, owner and Director of KQ Social was delighted to support such a talented group of young women as they take a big step up this season:

I’m absolutely thrilled to be sponsoring the U16 Girls Gold team as they go on to compete in the JNL Premier this year. Basketball has always had a special place in my heart and I grew up playing with so many great memories tied to the sport. Being able to sponsor this incredible group of young women feels like a full-circle moment. I’m passionate about supporting women in sport where confidence, leadership, and community are built. It’s an absolute joy to be part of their journey and I can’t wait to cheer them on this season."

We are always looking for businesses who have an interest in supporting what we do. Should you have an interest in supporting or sponsoring any aspect of our programme, please reach out via email to j.quinn@cityofleedsbasketballclub.co.uk.
